Bighorn River Fishing Conditions

As we begin our transition towards the middle of our prime fishing season, the Bighorn River’s flows have dropped back to normal (2500 CFS) and should remain there for the remainder of summer. Water temps should remain in the 47-57 degree range until late August thanks largely to our 400-foot-deep reservoir. We are just beginning to see both Hopper action and the start of PMD (Pale Morning Dun) mayfly hatches. Caddis hatches will soon follow. And as always, there is the subsurface smorgasbord of crustaceans.
